Visit Palestine
It is important that people from the West visit Palestine to bear witness to the daily violations of human rights that Palestinians are forced to endure, and report back to their local communities. It is also important for the morale of the Palestinians to show solidarity with them.
There are many opportunities to visit Palestine with groups:
- Liverpool Friends of Palestine have a twinning relationship with Bi’lin, a village close to Jerusalem, which is suffering from house demolitions and land expropriations to make way for illegal Israeli settlements. There will be opportunities to visit Bi’lin each year. (See http://liverpoolfriendsofpalestine.co.uk/?page_id=149
- Viva Palestina are organising an aid convoy to Gaza, departing on 5th December 2009 (see http://www.vivapalestina.org/ )
